Forum Seksualiteit en de Derde Wereld

Woensdag 3 maart 2010 vindt in SIT Study Abroad, Herengracht 513-1 hoek Vijzelstraat in Amsterdam , van 17.00 tot 19.00 uur een forum plaats over seksualiteit en de ontwikkeling in de derde wereld. De voertaal is Engels. Na ontvangst en introductie van de panelleden geven zij hun presentaties, volgt een discussie en als afsluiting een borrel. Ter introductie in het Engels:

 

What does sexuality have to do with the UN’s Millennium Development Goals, global poverty reduction and international development?

 

• Why should we talk about sex when we are trying to meet basic needs for housing, education, food security, health and good governance?

• How do sexual and reproductive health and rights contribute to poverty reduction?

• What do LGBT rights have to do with good governance and civil society?

• Are women’s rights “merely” a human rights issue, or are gender issues a crucial component of international development?

• What are the challenges, strategies and best practices for promoting these goals?
