RIGHTS OUT THERE – An evening about freedom and safety of LGBTIQ associations

In de Oude Lutherse Kerk in Amsterdam vindt woensdag 2 augustus, tijdens Amsterdam Pride, ‘Rights Out There‘ plaats. De voertaal is Engels. Het belooft een avond te worden ‘of reflective storytelling and music on the relevance of LGBTIQ associations and movement building worldwide. Come and listen to personal stories from around the world, and share your own experiences’ (bron: persbericht).

LGBTIQ associations are vital, everywhere. They bring people together, address vulnerabilities and offer mutual support. They fight against discrimination, and push for LGBTIQ acceptance in today’s societies. In many countries these associations face serious challenges. Many governments make it impossible for LGBTIQ associations to be legally registered, and in some cases LGBTIQ offices are under surveillance and attack. Learn how activists from around the world deal with these challenges, safeguarding their rights out there. This event during Amsterdam’s Pride week will be in English.
